Saving costs in the cloud

AWS has earned itself a bad reputation when it comes to costs.

But that's just because most users aren't cost-aware.

Most users:

- don't implement observability.
- don't use tools to reduce costs
- don't right size resources
- don't turn off idle instances
- don't view service pricing before using them
- don't have a frugal state of mind

When you do these things above, not only will you not have any more surprise bills but you save money and make your workloads more efficient as well.

Cost-efficiency is perhaps the most important yet underrated skill to have in the cloud.

But I get it, its not easy, and the cloud is so vast, with so many different services that all sound like they do the same thing.

This is why I'm launching a newsletter called,

The Cloud Economist

Every Sunday, I'll share handpicked curated, 1-line, concisely summarized articles (for busy devs) on saving money in the cloud.

I'll follow it up with one or more valuable actionable tips.

And leave you with a question.

Step up your cloud game with this newsletter - cost-saving is a critical skill to learn in the cloud.

You can subscribe here, and I'll see you on Sunday.
